About
HOMEWorks
HOMEWorks opened
in March 2003 and quickly established itself as an affordable
and effective resource for people needing organizing assistance,
especially before and after a relocation. Overwhelmed by
the innumerable details needing attention during a move,
transferring executives turned to HOMEWorks to
sort through belongings, organizing them for the move, and
disposing of no-longer-needed items rather than paying to
pack, ship and store them.
Additionally, HOMEWorks would stage the house for a quicker
sale and an optimal offer, and frequently manage the sale
through to closing.
HOMEWorks expanded
into a full service professional organizing firm and counts
busy executives, small business entrepreneurs, seniors, young
moms at home, growing families, students, estate attorneys,
and realtors as clients, along with home sellers and buyers.
Public Speaking. Several
staff members at HOMEWorks have developed exceptional presentation
skills and do public speaking as a complimentary service
to clubs, organizations, and non-profits. We tailor our presentations
to our audiences, and traditionally offer organizing demonstrations,
tip sheets and a door prize.
We also offer fee-based presentations to the corporate community.
HOMEWorks frequently presents to seniors, executive women,
realtors, professionals, church groups, libraries, PTA's,
and at corporate "Lunch & Learns."
Charitable Efforts. HOMEWorks
believes strongly in supporting our local charities and non-profit
organizations. HOMEWorks will donate two hours of organizing,
or a home or office consultation as a raffle prize. We do
presentations and public speaking to non-profits without
fee.
Additionally, in concert with our focus on recycling rather
than disposing, we affiliate with numerous local charities
to provide them with donations of items our clients are ready
to part with: furniture, appliances, household items, clothing,
books, toys, tools, and more. We make it a practice to ask
our clients to list their favorite charities so we may consider
them first when clearing out or de-cluttering a home. Clients
receive a receipt for tax-deductible purposes, and those
tax savings help pay for our services.
"Reuse, Recycle, Redirect,
Resell." We maintain a strong focus on recycling
rather than discarding. It is our belief that for most
unwanted items in good condition, there is a need or a
new home. We make it a practice to discover the best solution
that makes the most cost-effective sense for items clients
no longer need. Resources such as Goodwill, Salvation Army
and other charitable organizations are excellent solutions,
and some will pick up. While a dumpster may be the easiest
solution, it's not what we always consider the best.
